Mia Kramer’s Bat Mitzvah Project

Mia Kramer’s Bat Mitzvah Project

Hi! My name is Mia Kramer, and this year I will become a Bat Mitzvah. For my mitzvah project, I want to help bring the gift of summer camp to girls at the Lev LaLev orphanage in Israel. I chose this project because going to summer camp is very special to me. For the last four summers, I have had the opportunity of going to summer camp, and I believe that it’s made me a better person. For example, I’ve learned to live and become friends with people I never knew before. At camp, I participate in sports and activities where I can be a Team leader. And most importantly, camp is a place where I can just be a kid having fun! The girls at Lev LaLev orphanage are victims of neglect, abuse, and the war. I want to give other girls the opportunity to experience the same joy that I do when at camp.I want to help girls who are just like me, but do not have the family and privileges that I do. The girls at Lev LaLev deserve the same opportunities and love that I get at home but need a helping hand. My goal is to send at least eight girls next summer to attend the Lev LaLev summer camp. The Hebrew word “chai” (חי) means “life.” Its letters have a numerical value of 18; symbolizing life and good fortune in Jewish tradition. The number 8 itself holds symbolic meaning often representing new beginnings. Together, we can bring the gift of camp to girls who deserve joy, friendship, and growth just like I’ve experienced. Every contribution helps create new beginnings and positive memories that can last a lifetime. With your support, I know we can reach the goal of sending eight amazing girls to Lev LaLev Camp and give them the chance to feel the love, laughter, and life that camp brings to me.
